- The Payback Foundation -

Do you ever have the urge to put something back in? We believe that after love and food, education is the most precious thing you can give to a child!

......and that's what we do!!!!!!

The Payback Foundation was born out of a desire to put something back into a system from which we, the privileged few, have inordinately benefited. Hence the name.

We are a small group of friends from several nations who have travelled the world and discovered just how very privileged we have been from the very start of our lives!

Our primary aim is to assist underprivileged children in South Africa to live a fulfilled life and to obtain an education that will enable them to grow into knowledgeable and positively critical multilingual citizens of this nation.

Given the miracle of South Africa since the death of apartheid in the late 1980s and the birth of a free and democratic nation in 1994, it is essential that not only do the children integrate fully into the affairs of their nation but also be able to do so with the rest of world.

Given the deep economic and racial polarity that South Africa has inherited, coupled to the fact that this nation lies at the epicentre of the global HIV and AIDS pandemic, the need to give children the best possible opportunity to maximise their potential is clearly obvious and essential.

We sponsor any age of children, into school systems that offer fully integrated conditions. Practically all of the sponsored children come from social circumstances that would shock most people from developed nations. The township areas offer little racial integration, with scholars drawn from similar circumstances, unlike our increasingly globalised world. We aim to correct this imbalance.

All children sponsored by the Payback Foundation have their choice supported by their guardians.

The Payback Foundation is starting small but with your help many children will be able to be assisted. While millions may be in need throughout the region, each and every young person helped can make a difference.

We are purposefully and resolutely insisting on keeping any administration costs to an absolute minimum – our aim is for any assistance to go directly to where it is needed. Transparent and up to date accounting will form a major part of any such expense and will be continuously updated on this website. Donors will be able to see for themselves that nothing will ever be wasted, as is the case in far too many donor driven projects.
