Message from the Founder, 2008.

Dear Children, friends and sponsors! We are now in 2008. For 2 years PBF has been active and I'm happy to say that our activity is rolling! 2 pre-schoolers in the Imhoff school have made it into 1st grade and we have a new girl in 1st there as well! Welcome S! Your teacher says you are a strong and sweet one and I wish you all the best! Young P in Synergy School needs another year in pre-school to catch up on his English but has done great leaps forward. His sister P in the Stark School is doing very well! I thank our faithful sponsors Lisbet and Lilo and "Tribal" brothers and sisters David and Anette, Janet and Ken for their contributions. Happy 2008 to all of you!

Peter

Payback Foundation 2008

The Payback foundation has entered 2008 with renewed vigour and resources. We are proud to share our track record with all who may be interested, which is why we post our full accounts on the website, in the name of complete transparency. Compare us to any other NGO and you will see that our money goes where it is meant to and our only costs are in regard to bank charges, transfers and the like, which are unfortunately unavoidable. We will continue to apply pressure on our bank in this regard!

We are continually seeking new sponsors who are committed to building a better future through better educational opportunities for all.

We thank all sponsors, supporters and friends of the Payback Foundation and look forward to your continued support.

Glenn

2007 Message from the Founder.

Happy New Year to our friends. 2006 was a good one for the children in pre-school. They are all doing very well and P who is at the Raphael School doing remedial educational work is already at level 4 after only one year!

Our financial reserves have doubled thanks to an anonymous sponsor from Denmark. On my last visit to South Africa in November and December I had the great pleasure of meeting Robin, Meryl and Tahirih of Synergy Schooling who made me wish I was old enough to go to school! Their school!!

We shall be sponsoring two children there for the 2007 educational year and onwards. Please look at the website linked above for some more information on this wonderful schooling system.

We came across research from Bocconi University in Milan (Milano), Italy, that has researched the largest Italian charity foundations and concluded that their administration costs varied from between 70 and 90% of the total income! This makes me feel really good about our record where nearly 100% of our funding goes directly to where it counts – to the children and schools. Please take a look at our spreadsheets for more information.

In addition to the above we will continue to fund the children already supported in our first year in order to ensure continuity in their educational careers.

Peter Skaarup.
