Payback Foundation ProjectsThe foundation wishes to engage in projects that keep alive the hope that is inherent in the transcendence of South Africa and its people over a tragic and polarised history. South Africa has become a symbol across the world through for its peaceful transition from the raw brutality of a fascist Apartheid state to an inclusive constitutional democracy. Any visitor to the country will testify to the miracle that is South Africa and while our nation is far from perfect, through the sacrifices and forgiveness of everyone from Nelson Mandela to the men and women who form the fabric of this dynamic nation, it has much to offer to the world. The first objective of the foundation is to provide access to educational systems that can provide a fertile ground to allow good citizens to thrive and evolve. We have started small but our dreams are big. We also aim to provide support to students whose families have been affected by HIV and AIDS; South Africa lies at the heart of this global pandemic and faces a staggeringly complex task in providing succour to those affected by this disease. We aim to sponsor children for at least 4 years so seek a certain level of commitment from our donors to pursue this aim as continuity in education is of critical importance. After this time we will seek further scholarships, grants in kind or other bursaries. It is our policy to ensure a continuity of access to good educational facilities to those who the foundation has supported. We know there are many out there, particularly in the wealthy northern nations, who recognise their good fortune. We know many of them have visited South Africa and would like to help in some way or other. The payback foundation was devised as a tool to provide just such an instrument. We hope you will join us in supporting this worthy organisation, which as you can see from elsewhere on this website, runs in a completely transparent manner and which aims to be responsive and responsible to both its funders and its beneficiaries.
